Planned Future Upgrades
I’m hoping to keep using this PC for as long as I possibly can. I’d say a ‘little outdated’ to be kind, but it’s beyond previous generation, still using a socket 775, DDR2 motherboard. It’s max RAM is only 8GB, but since I’m only running 4GB, I’d like to max this out at some point. The continual saving grace is the Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 processor at 2.4GHz which can be overclocked to over 3.0GHz keeping it powering through everything I throw at it. I’ve also found in a recent case swap that my CPU cooler’s fan is NOISY & since I can’t fit an H100 into the case, I may have to settle for an H60. Eventually, this rig will give way to a brand new build, ideally somewhere in 2013 or beyond, but I want to squeeze as much as I can out of my current hardware before forking out on a new build.
